Goa State Recruitment Typing Test Evaluation Framework

Candidates appearing for clerical, ministerial, and judicial appointments across Goa state institutions should note the distinctive evaluation systems:

  • Goa Staff Selection Commission (GSSC LDC & Junior Assistant): Conducted on personal computers by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) at Porvorim. Candidates who clear the CBT-I/CBT-II written tests are shortlisted for the typing test at a strict ratio of up to 2 times the advertised vacancies. The test requires a minimum typing speed of 30 Net Words Per Minute over 10 minutes. The typing test is qualifying only; final merit is based 100% on written examination marks.
  • Goa District & Sessions Courts (North Goa at Merces & South Goa at Margao): Conducted as an on-screen typing skill test of 300 words over 10 minutes (30 WPM benchmark). The test carries 40 marks, with 1.0 mark deducted for every typing mistake. Candidates must secure at least 20 marks (50%) to qualify.
  • High Court of Bombay at Goa (Panaji Bench): Governed by High Court Appellate Side rules, testing candidates on a 40 WPM English passage (400 words in 10 minutes) evaluated on a 20-mark scale. Candidates must score at least 10 marks (50%) to be eligible for the interview round.
  • MSCE GCC-TBC Commercial Certification: Widely recognized in Goa as the commercial standard for computer typing qualification. Evaluated on a 40-mark scale (minimum 16 marks to pass, 20 for Grade C, 24 for Grade B, 30 for Grade A).
