Kerala State Judicial & Technical Board Statutory Evaluation Rules

Kerala state judicial recruitment and technical certification examinations follow official government evaluation schemes:

  • Kerala High Court Rule (Chief Justice Scheme A2-33066/2019): 15-minute speed test on a passage of ~500 words with a criteria of 120 depressions per minute (~24 WPM). Evaluated strictly on the official non-linear 75-mark mistake deduction table (0 errors = 75M; 1โ€“10 = โˆ’2M each; 11โ€“17 = โˆ’3M each; 18 = โˆ’4M; 19 = โˆ’5M; 20โ€“31 = โˆ’2M each; 32+ = 0M). Qualifying standard for typing is 60% (45.00 marks), permitting up to 13 mistakes. (Separate stages evaluate 5 marks neatness and 20 marks CPT during board recruitment).
  • KGTE Kerala Typewriting Lower Grade (Paper I Speed): Evaluated out of 100 marks for typing a 300-word passage in 10 minutes (30 WPM). Deducts 1.80 marks per mistake. Minimum qualifying mark is 40.00 / 100 (40%), permitting up to 33 mistakes.
  • KGTE Kerala Typewriting Higher Grade (Paper I Speed): Evaluated out of 100 marks for typing a 450-word passage in 10 minutes (45 WPM). Deducts 1.25 marks per mistake. Minimum qualifying mark is 40.00 / 100 (40%), permitting up to 48 mistakes.
  • Kerala PSC Statutory Relationship: Kerala PSC tests clerical typists via OMR written exam. Technical typing speed qualification is certified through DTE Kerala KGTE examinations.
