The Karnataka High Court Typist practical typing test carries 100 marks. Candidates are evaluated on an on-screen passage of 350 words over 10 minutes at 35 WPM. Each typographical error or unattempted word incurs a 1.0 mark deduction. Statutorily, candidates must score at least 60.00 marks (50.00 marks for SC/ST) and clear the 35 Net WPM speed gate to qualify. In competitive reality, because candidates are shortlisted in a 1:5 ratio for the 20-mark Viva-Voce based on typing marks, achieving ≥ 96–97 marks (≤ 3 errors) is the recommended target.
Candidates belonging to General Merit and OBC must obtain at least 60.00 marks (60%), while SC and ST candidates must obtain at least 50.00 marks (50%) out of 100.
