Qualifying Test: Net Speed ≥ 35 WPM over 10 Minutes with ≤ 8% Maximum Mistakes
Municipal Corporation Chandigarh (MCC) conducts computer typing skill tests for Clerk vacancies through Panjab University (UIAMS / PU Examination Wing). In accordance with UT Chandigarh ministerial cadre rules, candidates must achieve a minimum speed of 35 Net WPM in English over a 10-minute test duration. 5 keystrokes count as one word, and mistakes are deducted directly from gross speed (Mistakes / 10). Candidates committing more than 8% mistakes are automatically disqualified regardless of typing speed. The spreadsheet / computer proficiency requirement is verified via an 80-hour ICT Computer Concept (CCC) certificate during Document Verification.
Candidates must achieve a minimum typing speed of 35 Net Words Per Minute (WPM) in English on a computer over a 10-minute test duration.
The test is conducted by Panjab University (UIAMS / Examination Wing) on behalf of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh.
A maximum of 8% errors is permitted. Candidates committing more than 8% errors are disqualified.
