How Scoring Works

PSSSB evaluates candidates over two separate 10-minute sessions in Punjabi (Unicode Raavi font) and English. Candidates must achieve at least 30 Net WPM with a minimum of 92% accuracy (maximum 8% errors, or ≤ 24 mistakes in a standard 300-word passage) in BOTH languages to qualify. This simulator evaluates the mandatory English paper.

Practice Tips

  • ›Maintain a steady pace above 32 WPM to ensure your Net WPM stays comfortably above the 30.00 benchmark after mistake deductions.
  • ›Keep your accuracy above 95% during practice to stay well within the strict 8% maximum error ceiling (maximum 24 mistakes in 300 words).

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have a choice between English or Punjabi typing for PSSSB Clerk?

No. PSSSB strictly mandates that candidates must appear in and qualify BOTH language tests (Punjabi in Unicode Raavi font and English). Failing either language results in overall disqualification.

What is the PSSSB chunk system?

The test passage is divided into 10 chunks (~30 words each). The software enforces a rule where you must type at least 80% of the active chunk before pressing Enter or Down Arrow to advance to the next chunk. You can use Page Up to navigate back and correct errors.

Is backspace allowed in the PSSSB typing test?

Yes, backspace and delete keys are permitted to edit and correct characters within the chunk before time expires.
