Central Autonomous Schools Typing Test Evaluation Rules
Central School organisations evaluate typing proficiency with unique statutory scoring frameworks:
- KVS Severe Mistake Penalty: Kendriya Vidyalaya JSA enforces one of the strictest penalty models in India. Every mistake deducts 10 full words from your gross word count with zero free error buffer. Net Speed = (Gross Words − (Mistakes × 10)) / 10. Accuracy is paramount.
- NVS Standard Evaluation: Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti tests candidates at 30 WPM in English or 25 WPM in Hindi, allowing up to 5% errors. As long as your accuracy remains above 95% and net speed hits 30 WPM, you qualify.
- EMRS 50-Mark Grading Scale: In EMRS JSA, typing is converted into a 50-mark scale where qualifying candidates must score at least 20 marks (40%). Candidates typing below the 35 WPM speed gate automatically fail the stage.
- Backspace Freedom: All three school boards permit unrestricted editing and backspace usage during the test. Candidates can navigate back within active words to correct spelling errors.
